Chapter History
Kansas City Alumnae Chapter, formerly Southeast Jackson County Alumnae Chapter, was formed in 1970, but our Sigma Sisterhood has been shared in the Greater Kansas City area for over 90 years with various alumnae chapters.
Our members are from all over the GKC area. If you were a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma as a collegian, you can continue your sorority experience by joining an alumnae chapter. Our calendar includes social and philanthropic activities, as well as events with collegians. We celebrate Founders' Day each April.
Alumnae chapter membership offers:
- Support of friends and Sisters
- Social engagement
- Community involvement
- Philanthropic and service activities
- Professional and networking opportunities
- Stronger connection with the National organization
- Interaction with local collegiate chapters
- Further enhancement of personal or leadership skills through officer and chairmanships
- Personal satisfaction in taking pride in what the chapter is doing
- Life-long involvement in Tri Sigma
We are honored to have been given the 2012 National Sisterhood Award for an Alumnae Chapter not in a College Town
